University of Bradford Ranked in Top 10 Green Universities

The University of Bradford has been ranked within the top 10 green universities in the UK.

The university was placed in 9th out of 143 universities and received a first class award in the People and Planet Green League.

The People and Planet Green League is the only comprehensive and independent ranking of universities in the UK, which assesses the environmental and ethical performance of universities. This year, 43 institutions received a first class award.

The university's Director of Estates and Facilities, Clive Wilson, commented, "Sustainability is in our DNA and everything we do as the department of estates and facilities. It is fully embedded into our working processes and allows us not only to follow, but actually set best practice in managing a sustainable estate."

Recent University of Bradford green projects include a refurbishment of the library, which has made huge carbon savings through increasing insulation, natural ventilation and light. There was also a major energy efficiency project with the university's student residences.
